In the Loods 6 (Warehouse 6) building in the Amsterdam East Harbour District, the Baggage Hall is an exhibition and presentation space that can be rented for exhibitions and cultural events.
Thanks to the monumental size of the Baggage Hall and its raw, industrial character, it is sometimes referred to as the 'Noble Bunker'. In its earlier life, it was quite literally used as a baggage depot for the Royal Dutch Steamboat Company, the KNSM.
In April of 1997, the former baggage hall began its current use as an exhibition space. Since then it has hosted numerous exhibitions, cultural events, brand name presentations, workshops, fashion shows and other events.
The Baggage Hall is nearly 100 metres long, 10 metres wide and 5 metres high. With the aid of a fire door, the hall can be divided into two spaces, making it is suitable for smaller events as well. Basic facilities, including toilets, lighting systems, high voltage electricity outlets (1 x 32 amp en 2 x 16 amp), heating and storage space are available. The entire hall can hold up to 600 people at any given time.
The Central Hall
The Loods 6 Central Hall is on the first upstairs storey and has a beautiful view out over the IJ harbour. It too can be hired for special events. This open space is especially suited to receptions, lunches or small dinners, as well as for filming and photographic sessions. If required, it can be rented in combination with the Baggage Hall. There is also a meeting room at one side of the Central Hall, suitable for about twenty people.
The
Compass Room in the Loods 6 building is also for hire.
